The Generations and Gender Programme (GGP) is an international social research infrastructure with roots dating back to the year 2000.

Monika Mynarska
Monika Mynarska is a researcher at the Institute of Statistics and Demography at the Warsaw School of Economics and a university professor at the Institute of Psychology at Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński University in Warsaw. Her research interests focus on family and fertility issues, particularly motivations for parenthood and the psychological and social factors influencing decisions about having children or remaining childless.

Irena E. Kotowska
Professor Irena Elżbieta Kotowska is a retired full professor at the Institute of Statistics and Demography at the Warsaw School of Economics. She holds the title of Honorary Chairperson of the Committee for Demographic Sciences of the Polish Academy of Sciences (PAN). She co-authored the “Social Diagnosis,” a panel study on living conditions and quality of life conducted between 2000 and 2015, and coordinated the demographic panel study “Generations and Gender” in Poland as part of the “Generations and Gender Programme (GGP)” from 2008 to 2022.
She is a member of the Expert Team on Social Services at the Stefan Batory Foundation, the Expert Commission on Older Persons at the Office of the Polish Commissioner for Human Rights, the Scientific Statistical Council at Statistics Poland (GUS), and the Government Population Council.
Her research interests focus on fertility changes, family and household transformations in connection with labor market changes, shifts in gender roles, and population, family, and social policies.

Dorota Holzer-Żelażewska
Dorota Holzer-Żelażewska is a researcher at the Institute of Statistics and Demography at the Warsaw School of Economics. Throughout her career, she has collaborated on panel social surveys, including SHARE: 50+ in Europe and the household survey “Determinants of Educational Decisions.” Previously, she worked at the World Bank, where she focused on the development and application of indicators in areas such as education, labor markets, health, and demography. Her research interests include demography, reproductive health, labor markets, and the aging population.

Anna Maliszewska
Anna Maliszewska is an assistant at the Institute of Statistics and Demography at the Warsaw School of Economics. During her career, she has participated in major international and national research projects, including SHARE: 50+ in Europe, ReferNet Poland, and the household survey “Determinants of Educational Decisions.” Her research interests include demography, reproductive health, education, and social research methodology.

Wiktoria Bąchorek
Wiktoria Bąchorek is an assistant at the Institute of Statistics and Demography at the Warsaw School of Economics and a doctoral candidate at SGH’s Doctoral School in Economics. Her research interests focus on population aging, particularly inequalities in aging and the quality of life of older adults.

Marta Bryzek
Marta Bryzek is an assistant at the Institute of Statistics and Demography at the Warsaw School of Economics and a doctoral candidate at the Doctoral School of Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński University in Warsaw. In 2020, she graduated from UKSW with a degree in psychology. Her research interests include fertility and the processes and determinants of child-rearing.

Ewa Gałecka-Burdziak
Ewa Gałecka-Burdziak is an Associate Professor at the Warsaw School of Economics (SGH). She is also a Research Affiliate at the Life Course Centre (Australia) and Prague University of Economics and Business (Czechia). She manages research projects financed by the National Science Centre, NAWA, CERGE-EI Foundation and OECD. She received the START scholarship founded by the Foundation for Polish Science, Minister of Science and Higher Education scholarship for young scientists (2020-2022) and Dekaban-Liddle Senior Fellowship (University of Glasgow). Her research spans labour economics, social policy, economics of crime, with particular focus on unemployment insurance.

Katarzyna Kocot-Górecka
Katarzyna Kocot-Górecka is an assistant professor at the Institute of Statistics and Demography at the Warsaw School of Economics. Her research focuses on the determinants of demographic processes, including the social roles of women and men and the organization of family life.

Tomasz Panek
Professor Tomasz Panek is a full professor at the Institute of Statistics and Demography. He is a co-initiator and co-author of the panel study on living conditions and quality of life, “Social Diagnosis,” conducted between 2000 and 2015. He has coordinated various projects, including "Electronic Media Consumption in Poland," and led teams from the Warsaw School of Economics participating in national and international consortium projects, such as "Building an Integrated System of Retail Price Statistics" and "Small Area Methods for Poverty and Living Conditions Estimates." He is a member of the Scientific Statistical Council at Statistics Poland (GUS) and a nominated member of the International Statistical Institute.
His research interests primarily focus on household living conditions, including poverty, social exclusion, inequality, quality of life, income, and consumption. He is also interested in electronic media consumption, inflation measurement, economic information systems and decision support, multidimensional comparative analysis methods, survey methodology, and data analysis.

Marta Styrc
Marta Styrc is a researcher at the Institute of Statistics and Demography at the Warsaw School of Economics. Her research interests include the determinants and consequences of relationship formation and dissolution.

Jan Zwierzchowski
Jan Zwierzchowski is a researcher at the Institute of Statistics and Demography at the Warsaw School of Economics. Professionally, he specializes in the methodology of conducting social research. His research interests include measuring quality of life, poverty, and social exclusion.
